Quick and nourishing breakfast ideas. Chia pudding

We all feel busy in the morning, we have our morning routine that often involves getting other people ready for their day. Starting your day with a nourishing breakfast is so important. You want to nourish your body and give it fuel to help you reach your goals for the day. Here are some of my favourite quick and nourishing breakfast ideas.

how I Start My Day with Love And Nourishment

It’s so easy to run out the door before taking the time to nourish our bodies. I make sure to get up with lots of time to take care of myself and my family before we have to leave the house. I start my day with a glass of water and then I do a 20-30 min workout, followed by a meditation and some work on my blog, To Be Magnetic work and my daily affirmations while I sip my Shilajit and lemon water. I don’t eat until about 730. I like to give my body a break from food so it can digest everything properly. I don’t follow any fasting rules, I just listen to my body and my intuition.

Quick And Nourishing Breakfast Ideas

  • Coconut milk and chia seeds: I make this the day before and it’s super easy. I use a full can of organic coconut milk, 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, and a dash of vanilla. You can add a bit of honey or maple syrup if you like it a bit sweeter. Cover it and put it in the fridge overnight. I get 3 to 4 breakfasts from this. In the morning just scoop your portion into a bowl and add some fruit, nuts, and hemp seeds. Be creative!! If I have extra time I melt some coconut oil in a pan add sliced bananas and coconut sugar and fry that up. It is so YUMMY!!
  • Yogurt protein parfait: I add half a scoop (depending on how thick you want it) of protein powder to a bowl. My favourites are Botanica vanilla or chocolate and Biosteel Banana. Then I add plain coconut yogurt, but you can use any type of yogurt. Just be mindful of yogurt’s sugar content as it is shockingly high. I whip it up with a whisk and add toppings. I switch it up, but my favourite toppings are fruit, nuts, chia seeds, hemp seeds, goji berries, white mulberries, and cacao nibs. Organic Traditions is the brand I normally buy.
  • Protein Oats: This recipe is a modified Michelle Method recipe. I cook 1/3 cup of glyphosate-free oats. I love One Degree oats. Once cooked, I add half a scoop of Botanica vanilla protein powder, a sprinkle of chia seeds, and a dash of vanilla, sweeten to taste with maple syrup or coconut sugar, mix in a splash of my homemade cashew milk, then top with your fruit of choice. Banana is my favourite 🙂
  • Locally made sourdough toast with natural peanut butter, banana and cinnamon: Sourdough bread is so good and way better for you than other types of bread, many people who are sensitive to gluten can eat well-made sourdough without any issues. Grocery store sourdough is not the same! It’s filled with garbage and just not made with the same love and care that local bakeries put into their bread. My favourite local bakery is Yum Bakery, it’s located at the Calgary Farmers Market. They use simple ingredients and sell out of their bread every day. Natural peanut butter can be tricky, but I’ve finally found a good option that’s creamy and delicious. MaraNatha is the one I use and love. You won’t miss the sugary processed PB from the grocery store one bit. It’s not the easiest to find, but it’s worth the hunt.
  • Smoothies: I love making a smoothie in the afternoon as a snack to get me to dinner without being hungry. I make a double batch and save half for the morning. You could just make one in the morning, but I prefer to do it this way. I love frozen bananas, strawberries, ice, a scoop of vanilla protein powder, dates, water and a bit of my homemade cashew milk. Another favourite is frozen spinach, frozen banana, ice, vanilla protein powder, hemp seeds, dates, water, and a bit of my homemade cashew milk. My third favourite is modified from Michelle Methods recipe. I do frozen bananas, ice, chocolate protein powder, dates, a tablespoon of cacao powder, water and a bit of my homemade cashew milk. All three are delicious and super filling.

Learn to Love Nourishment

In the Spring of 2022, I shifted my life in a new direction. I started taking care of my body, mind, spirit and social connections again. I started to learn about food again and I haven’t looked back. I don’t diet, health is my lifestyle and I love every minute of it. I love finding new ways to nourish me and my family. It’s something I can’t recommend enough. This blog was birthed because of my awakening to health and wellness. Once you make health a habit it’s hard to go back. You feel so much better. Your mind is clear, your body is energized and your heart opens to creativity and love. You will make health a priority at some point in your life, you may as well do it while you’re healthy. I hope this inspires you to wake up each morning and make your health a priority.
